Lidl have these in for 19.99. Haven't used one but my cheap Aldi one lasted years with regular use.

Too small? Not powerful enough? My new small pro one is much better than my expired Aldi one but it was canny enough for parts up to rear mech size & cleaning old stove burners - with the right solution. I used bike wash in various concentrations for the bike stuff.

I found it didn’t really do anything apart from make a really horrible noise. An hour in the ultrasonic cleaner was far less effective than 5 minutes in the sink with a toothbrush. It didn’t effectively clean anything I put in it. And yeah, soo small anyway.

I didn’t really experiment with fluids etc.

I think i have the old similar Aldi one, just been using it too. compared to my science targeted one I used also it's just as good.
Just done a rear mech, jockey wheels, canti brakes in it.

Recently, I've use white spirit diluted with a load of water. You're not suppose to but it works well to get the majority off, then a poke and a scrub and then back in to finish it off.
Take a few rotations, but just leave it doing it's thing. Pull the cage out and rinse with water.

I find these cleaners are pretty well entirely Fluid / solvent dependant. I use a strong concentration of biological washing powder in mine.
