Marin Palisades Trail

Bit of idle reminiscing this but...

My First proper mountain bike was a Palisades Trail, but all of the info I can glean from the web leaves me a bit confused as to exact specs.

I was Certain I got it in 1995 Brand New, but it was the previous year's model, so that would have made it a '94 which rang a bel.

The thing is... it was a 7000 Series Alloy frame with Rigid forks ( I had them swapped by the bike shop for a set of Yellow Ballistix (SP) suspension forks) with a full STX Groupset and Gripshift. None of the infor for bikes of that era match the spec... am I WAY out on the year? I am over 40 now, so the memory isn't what it used to be

Could it be a '96? The previous year's Palisades were chromoly, '96 was the first year of the 7005 series alu frames:

If you bought it in late '96, it could well have been described as last years model due to the newer '97 models being in stock.

Can you remember the colour of the frame or parts?

Frame was Dark Grey... Ally Handlebars and stem (Well it was silver at least) Although I swapped the bard for a set of yellow risers to match the forks LOL. Grey Marin tyres IIRC and I have a vague recollection of it having mavic rims

That would be a 96, i bought my 95 at a good price then a few months later saw the new models, which were alloy, and realised why the price was good
