Marzocchi Z1, Z2 and BAM versions

Can you please explain me the difference

In a nutshell:

Z1 - 100mm travel
Z2 - 80mm travel
BAM - 'Bomber Aerospace Material', Marzocchi's name for the aluminium used in a Bomber fork.

Difference between Z1 and Z2 only in travel or in technology too? i see the weight difference is a bigger amount than in it?

I'm pretty sure that Marzocchi started using the 'BAM' terminology in 1997, for the '98 range of forks.

To be really pedantic they were 70mm with 5mm negative.
