MBK Aventure

HullBorn

Retro Guru
£40 pickup only Hull.

MBK mountain bike. 18 speed large frame. Shimano Exage mountain groupset.

New chain, brake and gear cables fitted.

Rides smooth.

There is a problem with the gears not staying on the biggest ring on the front. Not sure what the problem is. It moves up then the shifter moves back to the middle ring position.

Doesn't seem to work at all when on SIS mode.

Works well in the other gears.

Nice bike, proper flouro retro :)

Is there a way of tightening the left hand thumb shifter up from below, might just be a bit loose?

Hope your sale goes well.

I've had a look at this and no joy. I have a feeling it's more an interal issue.

Now selling as spares £30.

The issue with the shifting was due to the internal thread been warn and the locking nut not tightening. My attempt to fix resulted in it snapping  so the shifter pod has been removed.

I may split if no joy with the sale or keep an eye out for a replacement shifter.

Re:

If you do end up splitting I'm keenly interested in a Frame/Fork/Stem package, if postage was/will be an option.

I'll give it a few days to see if there's any local interest. If not, I'll split it. I could look at posting the frameset if I could get come suitable packaging.
