Found a MT600R poorly listed on Kijiji and going for cheap. "Appeared" the be mostly DX and in good shape (from the crap pic). What the hell, can always use a donor for the 91 Catalyst F+F I have sitting here.

Fuzzy Kijiji pic. I think it's a 91-93. Not 100% sure. The paint screams 91.

Went for a drive to go see it. Looked to be in great shape, but there were some poor and interesting part swaps done in it's life.

Left the sprung couch on it so you guys could have a good laugh. Pedals were swapped out for generic Taiwan fodder. BB looks to be low end Shmoo. Brake/shiters had been swapped with XT ST-M095 units and one(?) LX canti arm on the front. And that glorious seat!

Another odd swap is the 1 1/4" Tech 135mmx25 deg. cromo stem. Never seen one that size before.

So now I'm not sure what to do with it now that I have it home. It's a funky bike, decent pedigree, and in good shape. The paint literally hurts my eyes. Strip it? bring it back to 100% stock? Throw an air sprung Marzocchi and a Tioga Disk on it and turn it into a bastardized Cully rep.? I dunno. It's not like I don't already have enough parts lying around to build the Brodie. Maybe my sub conscious secretly wanted it, in all it's funky weirdness.

While I was out that way I visited a guy I have dealt with for parts on several occasions and picked up a mint 600 AX stem. It's the only part on my Cramerotti that wasn't 600, so I'm happy to finally find one.

whats that white stuff everywhere?

If you look close you can see the footprints from my Sorels in the pics. You know you're Canadian when you can drive a manual while wearing Sorels. :D

We got a light dusting overnight/this morning. 5-6" or so. Waiting till it stops tomorrow afternoon before pulling out the snow blower and doing the driveway. On a plus side, the temperature went up to a balmy -5 today. Much nicer than the -20-25 it's been the past few days

I would love to find this rare iron Horse with 24" wheels and the Hannebrink's headshock front suspension…

Not too many around, think most of the MT1000R's broke. Anyone got any more pics of Cullys original Hanebrink equiped beast?

I'm leaning towards keeping it together. My eyes are starting to adjust to it, and it's starting to grow on me. The Karakoram has a mint M550 LX group on it that will look good on the Brodie.

Was funny, just the other day, was out for my first mtb biek ride for a while, met up with a mate and a car inb the car park had an old A frame on the roof rack, was very cool, first time ive ever seen one.

Baring in mind the majority of retrobike members are British and not many replies to this thread concerning the bike were from the Brits suggests the lack of love for Iron Horses might be because untill recently the brand was rarer than hens teeth in the UK. We cant love what we dont know about.

Yeah I think they were pretty rare here in OZ as well, hence why I was so surprised to see one just sitting on top of a car with nobody about.
