picked this up from lgf the other week and after swapping the tyres and saddle and performing some 'chopper' mods, here is my new ride to work bike. its the first drop bar ive owned (although ridden a few) and have to say i love it!

If you are commuting on it I would get some mudguards - not only will you stay cleaner and drier but also those old headset and BB bearings (which probably have no seals) be protected. It should save you a whole load of maintenance work.
 
got a lovely set of water proof so dont need the gaurds :D also only three miles there.
work in a bike shop (loosely called) so maintenance not a problem.
