Rocky Mountain Vertex Team Only 96

Sorry, new to this forum, I hope I have posted it in the right place.
I have a Rocky Mountain Vertex Team Only from 96, (18") classic red/yellow maple leaf paint job, White Industries Hubs, Syncros post, Control Tech stem, Race Face Bars, Magura Brakes (red), could anyone let me know what it might be worth as a complete bike or is it better just to sell the frame, thanks

Hi, there is a "how much is my xyz" thread near the top of this page for valuations.

Generally though, you will realise more money by splitting a bike.

It must be either a 17.5 or an 18.5, there wasn't a size 18. If it's a 17.5, I might be interested in the frame.

Sorry, it's my wifes bike and I didn't measure it, it is a 17.5

Obviously I can't offer you advice as to value, not even if you post a question in the 'what's my XXX worth?' thread, because I'm interested in buying it. In general, retro aluminium frames without disc tabs are worth less than you might think, but to be honest it's very hard to value because they are so rare. I personally have never seen one come up for sale in the UK, so I'd have nothing to go on.

I would suggest that aside from posting a picture in the what's my XXX worth thread, you might ask Gump for advice. I think he was a sponsored RM rider BITD, racing either a Vertex or an Altitude, can't remember which he said. And not just is he a very straight kind of guy (as you would expect being a moderator on this website), but it's too small for him anyway!

Another very knowledgeable RM expert is fluffychicken, and it's way too small for him too.

Thanks for that, both my wife and my self rode for Rocky in the 90's, at the time there were only half a dozen TO'S in the country, I will get some pictures of this up

Nice one Frank! Wow, seller's user name extremebikes should be extremeoptimism.

I would say his 2000 Vertex TO is if anything worth less than a 96, even though it has disc tabs, as around 96 was more like Rocky's most illustrious times. Bad photo, incorrect size (it's a 19.5), no mention of condition and he expects some mug to pay >3 times a reasonable price.

gump race in the early 90 till (I don't know when) on the Altitudes.

No idea of he value of this frame, it's late in the 90's for me. I think it's an ebay job for the frame really to find it's value. If you post to Germany you may or may not get more bids.

Was this around the time Rocky sort of left the UK market ?

but gump knows his later frames, think he has a vertex though not sure of year.
I think a T.O. came up for sale on ebay some time back in the EU. But could be wrong.

I'll give you £52 for it ?
