Shogun Trail Breaker-anyone heard of them?

I got a bike today from the tip-to restore for my sister in law. And when I got it home and stripped off the emulsion that was glooped over everything-I found a double butted hand welded frame! Old SIS thumbies, nice quality but really old parts-what a little gem! Anyone heard of these bikes?

My fathers first bike was a trail breaker 3

Late 80/early 90s Shoguns were really nice. Then they became a chain store bike and went to s__t, much like diamond back

The Trail Breakers were the lower end, above them were the Prairie Trail(?) and the Prestige

Wow, thanks for that. The bike is obviously 20+ years old, I shall post piccies when I have cleaned her up.

shogun

i had one in white with a stuck seatpost  as i remember right it wasnt a bad mtb-abit weighty though :)
it seemed a good upgrade to my hand-me-down mustang  i cant remember the spec but id remember anything 'hi-tech' perhaps exage :?
get some pics up-cheers

This one had a stuck seat pin too, I got it out though :D . I am just going to clean it up, service it and give it to the Sis-In-Law for a runabout. Seems a shame now I know what it is.

prarie breaker ? no

"your gonna ride down that ?"
"yeah me and the shogun showed the way "

or something like that in the full page adds from back in the day
taken under the wing of caratti in 95 or so and diluted

I'm busy getting the (emulsion) paint off the old girl, the original paint and decals are in really good nick, actually the whole bike is pretty original. Shame it's going to end up getting chained to lamp posts in Brighton and kicked to bits by drunken students!
