small Klein Pinnacle with possibly custom graphics

So I got this today. :)

I am definitely no Klein specialist, but this is obviously a Pinnacle and I haven't seen this colorway yet. I've been told this might be a custom painted bike, but not knowing the Klein line in its full depth I can't really tell. All I know it is the first time I have seen something like this.

Parts are mainly XT, with DX combo levers, a Deore XT/Mavic 231 CD wheeset on Hutchinson On The Rocks / Ritchey tires, Deore XT Biopace crankset, a Pro stem with True Temper handlebar and some no-name bar-ends, Deore XT headset & seatpost and a Vetta seat. The brakes are a mystery to me and they match the purple anodized QR's. What really annoys me is the Wheeler fork. I need to sort that out.

I will most likely clean it up, lube it up, look for another fork, put a Turbo saddle, XT thumbies and brake levers, plus some tires that bear a connection to the era, or maybe something newish.

The information I am looking for is about the color of the frame, the year of the bike (I am suspecting 1990, as there is no U-brake there) and the brakes. That would be highly appreciated!

Thank you for your patience to read this!

Cheers,

I don't know anything about Kleins to be able to help you with information, but I would be interested in those Wheeler forks when you find replacements.

Don't actually liek the paint job that much...I guess the orginal owner did... but I do liek the seat, Vetta Sl >>>> Turbo any day...

Nobody said it was. But that makes it even more special. Most likely it is unique.

I was trying to answer your question -

Anyone can make a unique or special paint job that no one else has got in there garage.

Not really a missing link, they would just fit well with a (non-Wheeler) frame I have.

Ha ha ... that (^^) sounds like 'new speak' for a "missing link" !
