is it me or is this brand a bit underrated?

You only see some high end bikes with the well known disc wheels but rarely any other parts although they were one of the first with carbon handlebars and seatposts (92)

And the Alchemy headset, Revolver cranks the venerable T bone stem.
All good stuff but indeed they seemed to have gone out of fashion since the mid 90's

There is a Tioga Alchemy aheadstem on ebay at the moment (i think), the person selling it seems to think it's a syncros

of course many other names like the Farmers, Hound/Trail/Mud Dawg a Psycho (all though I always think of Psycho K's ) tires, surefoots, biogrips

I think it's that Marin/Trek effect, where it's generally good stuff but cheap enough to be affordable so it's like a consumable brand.

My familes old mtb's allways had a few tioga bits on them - grips / brake lever grips / tyres etc

Rightly or wrongly though I never looked as them as top end though ? :?

I currently have a pair of mud dawgs (for the eventual build of the gf's bike), these nos grips :

and nos carbon bars for the proflex :

WD :-)

I have two Tioga Titanium 12-34 heat treated cassettes and they are fantastic. Rate them up with Boone.

the reason that i posted this is because i have a bike on the way and that one is equipted with a Tioga Mountaineer carbo and Tioga Carbo seatpost and when i was looking for info about these i noticed that there is little written about these, and 2nd that these are from 92/93 which is rather early for carbon parts.

and you are right, i have always loved their Psycho tires, i have several NOS sets in the storage to put on the future projects,..
like this one:

Tioga is the marketing name of a line of components that was/is designed and sold through the Marui Trading Co in Japan. Becuae of their western marketing expertise they got first dibs or purchased the right to sell the latest products from most of the Japanese manufacturers and also had many of their own designs. As the Yen strengthened they had more of their items made in Taiwan over the years. They were huge in BMX in the 80's and 90's always had the top tires.

I still have an alchemy aheadset and tioga stem on my DB axis...

famer johns cousin were my 1st mtb tyres...always like pyhcos and trhe "factory" tyres were (still?) are excellent... loved the factory slick and factory XC front/rear combo

I love the t-bone...
I have one on my daily rider and on 3 of my other bikes :D
Always rode them back in the day, very under-rated IMO
