What makes A Kona "Race light"

As above ... Looking at konas for my next project and note some are listed as race light... Guessing not a lot really ... Marketing bull shit?

race light was a sticker they put on 1994 to about 1997ish models that had rigid forks
hardtails got "mountain shock"

My 1994 Fire Mountain is made with plain gauge Cro-Mo tubes, so it isn't particularly light at all, but it still has the "Race Light" sticker. So I'd agree, it's just a sticker and doesn't really mean much.

At the time it was probably lighter than a lot of its direct competition, that was Kona's "thing" for a bit
