what size seat clamp would be needed for a 26.6mm post?

It'll be 28.6, next size up is 31.8, the tubes would be freakishly thick

It depends how thick the seat tube is. An aluminium tube will be roughly twice as thick as a steel one. I guess if it's steel, it could be as small as 28.6, certainly not smaller. Quite a lot of steel seat tubes are a 28.6 tube with external butting up to 29.8, which is why they make 30.0 clamps. If you had a tape measure, you could measure it.

The clamp on my karakoram is 30.0mm dia. The front mech is 26.8mm and the seat pin thingy is alos 26.8mm.So I reckpn 30.0mm could be your answer.But, of course it depends on the wall thickness of your tubes......... :shock:
