I need some suspension forks for my DMR but I don't know what was available in 1997.

I was going for circa 1998-2000 Marzocchis but I'd prefer to be accurate with matching the year to the frame.

Any ideas?

In the Rockshox world. Then MAG, JUDY or INDY.
catalogue in the archive.

Marzocchi then go to their site service area and list 1997 as we don't have a lot in the archive.

PACE then pop to goatsurfers Pace timeline

Try MOMBAT suspension history
Try other manufacturers bike catalogues and see what they are suggesting.

Good to know Z1s are available, my first choice. Just got to find some! At a reasonable price...

Is £30 reasonable enough (they even have new bushes and seals!).

The only thing is, they're not the original colour...

Bomber Z1s

They would be perfect but it looks like they are sold. :-(

Bargain, given Bushing and Seals cost more than that.

They're also disc tab and not 1997 if that matters.

Plain Vanilla Z1, Z2 and Z3's for 1997

of course, I no idea about DMR, what they are or what suits them.
But I do have some of their chainrings somewhere (new) and they look DH/SingleSpeed sort of thing.

So possible something meaty ?

No idea if these are the correct ones for the year but they did make some. Or WhiteBros, RST, Answer ... of course.

Those Z1 drop offs are year 2000 models, just checked on Marzocchi website. Too much travel too.

DMR would suit 80-100mm travel single crown forks, not dual crown. They are a tough XC/DJ frame.

There were a few Z1s and Z2s around in 1997. You can identify them by (a) the date stamp 1996 on the inside above the dropouts, (b) the polished brace is solid at the top, whereas by 98 there were holes in it, (c) 97s had the original style of diisc tabs. 97 Z1s had 90mm travel, Z2s 65mm.
