    Pets

Just added this picture to https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/show-us-your-motorbike-thread.440016/page-23#post-3594467 But it should be here too... Pigbag the cat "riding" my xl, 1992? A fine gentleman - named after the band: One evening he smuggled a wood pigeon into our tiny bathroom...

And the decision making process (+pics) on the fork disc mount - many people are nervous about this

    Raleigh Banana 🍌

Our customers frequently refer to The smell and The random-looking assortment of things when expressing approval of our authenticity. I don't think you need experience and a depth of knowledge to detect these😂 Also I would suggest: No polo shirts or name badges, videos on display screens...

My 1st xl250 - 30 years ago, did a tour of Cornwall and Devon on it. It was eventually nicked out of the front garden with a £80 d- lock bungeed onto the seat.🙄 I remember thinking - oh it'll be ok for the night. It probably ended its days scrambled to death on some waste ground and then set...

    Raleigh Banana 🍌

t Stiff brakes can be fixed. New shimano cables and some cleaning lubrication and adjustment - new chain and 6 speed freewheel, shimano 14-28, and then just change the gear levers, as Jim says above. - your banana looks clean and restorable. It will never have decent brakes as it has...

    Inappropriate brand/model names

So interestingly there are multiple pathways to inappropriateness: Deceitful marketing (the Townsend) Lost in translation (titanal) Deliberately unpleasant (gt aggressor) Deliberately rude (dogs bolx)

    Inappropriate brand/model names

I had always considered that The Townsend Team Professional was the most inappropriate named item in the cycle world, but I think the Drama Coach wheelset might take the title. Is this the AI takeover I am dreading?

    Saddle Transplant

You can stretch the leather like this, but it's surprising how little🙄

It's a lot like a Disk Trucker But older, cheaper, and much more experienced...😄

    Saddle Transplant

How did you get the old glue off? And what and how did you reglue?

Out riding it this evening. 😍 Not at all sorry to have a bike that stops - it's very hilly round here, and if it didn't stop, i would ride something else.

    Saddle Transplant

Amazing the leather wore through but the foam is still working right. Unglueing and reglueing will be interesting. I've had a go at repairing saddles a couple of times and was struck by how little you can stretch leather. It's much less than you'd imagine🙄

    Bent aluminum hanger. Help please!

Don't buy the park one, it's over-complicated and bits fall off it. My favourite is the old campag one, takes a little more skill to use, but it's not hard, and one you've got it, it's easy. There are copies available new if you don't want to start a retro toolkit. Assuming it's possible to...

THE OFFICIAL EURO CYCLIST CODE OF CONDUCT

I can't claim any pants, but I've got some socks from 1983. I've worn them many times biking. Back then I had a carlton 5 speed, chromed Rims, slippery as an eel. It probably takes 5 years or so to change bike wear fashion

The grim sound of carbon road bikes

Does anyone remember: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/state-of-the-industry-a-running-thread.471470/ I think it's what the state of the industry sounds like. It's not deliberate - it just happened😪
