Is the seatpost steel? I bought an 89 Kili and it has a steel one fitted. It is stamped Shimano but no series numbers are on it. The steel is incredibly thin. I just imagined XT seatposts being aluminium.

It's a 20 inch, a mixture of Deore LX and Alivio. I was hoping for some Deore DX bits but I'm not complaining considering how much I paid. I still haven't decided what to do with it.

Weren't they originally all M550 LX except for the Deore thumbies and levers? Really like them bitd, couldn't decide between one of these and a grey Clockwork.
