Strangely enough they did do a BSA Chopper... Raleigh did a fair bit of rebranding for world markets

Sadly not mine but was surprised at how many variations I spotted at the Retro Raleigh & Chopper show at Billing a couple of years ago. I showed my 1967 RSW MK1 and SBDU 753 Dynaflite

Paul Wilkin was a local frame builder and used the name ABALITA on his frames. I am riding his old track bike in the picture,think that's a Cougar next to me.

I never had a chopper and felt really left out/deprived as a child - and then I rode one. A friend had one and gave me a shot, they really were [for something that was the hearts desire of every 10/11 yr old then] god awful to ride. That seemed to be an antidote and I never craved again or since. Highly nostalgic to see minty-ones again but they really don't float my boat other than as object'dArt....

It's a toss up which rode worse, the Chopper or the original balloon tyred RSW16!

The Grifter was a tank. Someone had one when we were wee lads and we had a downhill course in the woods to share it on. Apart from a skipping SA hub it was legendary.
