Revelations about the past of Mauro Gianetti, Pogacar’s Manager (Radio France Investigation, Translation in post)

I remember being told by the father of a young British hopeful racing in Europe back in the late 80s, maybe early 90s, that his son gave up all hope of moving into the pro ranks when it was made plain to him that even at top amateur level doping was in effect compulsory.

    Nun-Brook Wheelers Time Trial trophy

It's certainly the first time I've ever had a proper trophy in my house! I stumbled across a race report from Lord Cammish's 1985 winning ride on another forum that reveals it was run on the Boro'...

    Nun-Brook Wheelers Time Trial trophy

I don't recognise any names until we get to 1972 I. R. White who I assume is Ian White. After that I think I remember these ones correctly. M. Bradshaw - Mick Bradshaw G. Longland - Glenn Longland D. J. Smith - Dave Smith and some bloke called Cammish who I think did the occasional decent ride 🫣.

    Nun-Brook Wheelers Time Trial trophy

I've recently been given custody of a trophy that my current club inherited when another local club was wound up in the 1990s. It was awarded to the fastest rider in the Nun-Brook Wheelers open 50 mile time trial covering the years 1953 to 1988. Imagine my delight when I discovered some famous...

    Road bike brake lever position

From what I remember of riding TTs in the very dim and distant past, the brake lever position wasn't important from a braking point of view but they actually look well set up for braking from the drops. I'm so used to braking from the hoods these days on modern bikes that I find my old bike...

Stupid ? About Freewheel Cog spacing

Standard 5 and 6 speed freewheels have a centre-to-centre cog spacing of 5.5mm whereas compact 6 speed ones like Suntour Ultra are 5mm. The sprockets and spacers are thinner on Ultras too. Sheldon has detailed info here: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-spacing.html There's also this page...

    Vintage Claud Butler

The seller's dad must have been a strong rider to pedal those gears "far and wide across Yorkshire". Quite tempted by this as it's not far from me, probably too big though.

    Campagnolo Record Bottom Bracket Length

Sorry, just checked and all my spares are English thread.

    Campagnolo Record Bottom Bracket Length

Is your frame British or Italian threaded? I have a couple of spare Campag BBs but can't remember what thread they are. Are the cranks well used? The tapers could be shot if they've been used with the wrong BB in the past.

    Any Guesses What This Is?

    Are the seat stays triangular?

    Campagnolo Record Bottom Bracket Length

Record and Chorus bottom brackets are not asymmetrical.

    Campagnolo Record Bottom Bracket Length

Just to add, it would be useful to see a picture showing each crank fitted to the 102mm spindle so we can see how far on they go. Also, what's the frame and how long are the chain stays?

    Campagnolo Record Bottom Bracket Length

102mm is the correct length for that chainset, I have the Chorus version which is identical apart from the chainring bolts are steel on mine not aluminium. I use genuine Campag bottom brackets and have never had any problems with the chain rubbing on the inside of the big chainring except when...

Rourke with nice campy bits - £200 Derby

I think they've confused down tube and seat tube. If top and seat tubes were 21" could that make a 25" down tube? Still seems a bit long...
