It's interesting that the front triangle is TIG welded while the stays are brazed on. The bottom bracket shell is unusual, but I don't recall seeing another one like it. Definitely NOT Columbus MAX: MAX had very recognisable tapered bi-ovalised tubes.

If you hold the cassette body still and turn the freehub retaining bolt anticlockwise, you're putting an anticlockwise torque on the hub shell. That's the same as putting a clockwise torque on the cassette, the same as pedalling forwards. The freehub pawls stop the shell rotating. Now, if you...

The Renown seems to have a 531 fork, so unless this one has lost its fork blade transfers, it can't be a Renown. Am I missing something? What makes you rule out the Jaguar and Echelon?
