    I’d go with that option, but seriously there would have been nothing to worry about. No matter what they say about no returns it’s part of eBay t+c’s that sellers are forced to agree to. Once you have dropped it at the post office (and they scan it and give you a receipt) it’s done.

    EBay always side with the buyer in my experience, just open an item not as described, use the label provided, DO NOT use your own for any reason. EBay will honour their money back guarantee even if it costs them £££.

    The rear hub is for the early hope brakes where it sat on the axle with a brace to the canti/V mount. A bit like this (rubbish) pic shows

    It was amazing how people used to bin cases, handbags, coats etc without even checking them first. As you say, sofas almost always gave some treasure even if it was just a few copper coins. We had one of those massive Bells whisky bottles by the telly and sometimes filled it in a fortnight.

    My local tip is in Ilkeston, Derbyshire and when I was a kid my dad used to run it on behalf of a family that had a few locally (Dunkirk, Hucknall, Langar, and Ilkeston) Selling stuff was perfectly normal and pretty much covered the wages, £5 here, 10 there, whatever really. Regular people used...
