Good work with the Claude, its always good to read your threads. Look forward to more in the future :D

Cheers Land_Raver, glad you like them. :D

PS you've got to start dropping that 'e' at the end of Claud or you will give LeGrandFromage an embolism..

Re:

I 'believe' I just purchased a 1948 CB Avant Coureur frame and matching fork off of eBay here in the states... It's in rough shape to say the least, but the bi-lam details match up along with some other frame features.

At first, I thought it was a mistakingly ID'ed Paris TdF frame (one of which which I own... was just looking around), but after a quick search, a stumble across this thread, a quick "no, you don't need another bike', I beleive a 48 CB AC is on its way to SW Colorado, USA.

The employee / frame builder may well have come from Paris Cycles, hence the first pass glance.

Will follow this post with interest to say the least.

Hello 135North and welcome on board. It will be good to see another of these very rare ‘48 AC’s get restored. I look forward to you starting a thread. You may have to be patient with this one though as the frame most likely won’t be back in my hands till the new year, but I’m sure it will be worth waiting for.

I did have a CB bilaminates but sadly the 2008 digital pictures may have evaporated. It was from around 1949 from the numbering.

If I find a pic, I will post it up.

All the best

Claude Cheese.

Hello gang, :D
The Avant is back from https://www.allenchrome.co.uk/ and the work is of their usual high standard, very pleased I am too…..

It now has a nice layer of rust proofing zinc all over and of course the chrome work accurately copies what was originally there, i.e. 8” rear stays, 6” front drops and the fork crown.

Quick mask up, slight scuffing of the chrome areas to be painted, a wipe down with some alcohol (evaporates perfectly without leaving any mineral deposits) then its off to the spray booth for some acid etch primer….. Cheers Jamie... I'm currently wrestling with the fact it should be re-sprayed Pink but I’ve always dreamed of owning a Gold Claud

Re:

Be bold go for gold.... My first project way back in 2006 was a Claud Bulter Ac. I was later informed that it was an All Rounder {Similar bi laminated lugs?} .
I still have it . Built as a fixed wheel .
Half chrome forks and rear triangle, gold paint with red lining to the lugs .
