Serial number 054858, I think 1983 if I have read PeachyPM previous posts correctly.

Re:

Looks like someone's been busy stamping the BB shell with a postcode - GL3 4NB rather than CL3? - address in Brockworth nr Gloucester. The police used to do this for cycle owners, wonder if they still do?

A nice looking bike.

Lovely looking survivor, and yes, its likely to have been produced near the end of 1983. Just needs a brown suede saddle and brown bar tape and it will be perfect…

Yes, going to change the tape and saddle.
Do you know what brand of saddle, and type of tape?

Most of the range was from Selle Italia back then but the catalogue lists it as I.S.C.A 405 Brown suede.

But I think you’ll be fine with this;

As for bar tape, no idea what was originally used I’m afraid but there’s plenty about, Brooks would look great but it’s a bit pricey for a consumable IMO.

Just prior to Covid I rode her from Ypres Castle in Rye to Ypres and the Menin Gate.
She performed very well, much more stable ride than the Chas Roberts I had ridden to Paris the previous year.

I visited Mario Vaz today to drop off another bike for a respray. I mentioned I had a Sierra and he told me that someone had picked one up from the previous day that he had resprayed. Back in the day he remembered that they would be done in batches of 40 and were a very popular bike.
