Compression ring — which one?

Hi I picked up a bike, lots of unpleasant ratcheting feel coming from the front. On inspection the headset is missing the compression ring and looks like they'd over tightened to compensate.

It's a generic headset made under licence by Tange but no more info on it... will any replacement ring do or does it have to be model-specific? (Inner bearing diameter is 30mm; 1 1/8th steerer). Thanks.

no, they are all tapered differently.
measure accurately the top, bottom and depth of the taper please. a 3d printed part can be made to suit.

Thanks. Taper looks to be 1.5 x 1.5mm... not sure it's worth a custom part, I might try and find a substitute and see if it works.
