1986 Raleigh Road Ace (531C, totally original)

Just got this delivered by my brother.

1986 Raleigh Road Ace (WE6... Frame number).

Looks totally original except tyres.

All Shimano 600 except the Dura Ace handlebars.

Plans are to remove most bits (probably the whole lot) and build up a fixed wheel bike.

It is a matching bike to this 1986 (not 1985) Road Ace I already own.

I bought it off eBay, he delivered it.

Everything will be reversible, it's my bike and I could powder coat it I I wanted to.

Not "you can't do that reversible stuff to your own bike".......

Trouble is, it's all very nice and in original condition, that kind of thing is respected on RB.
If it was a bit of a beater and you were going to spray/mod it etc. that would also be respected.

Of course it's yours to do as you please. It's still worth a thread though, we like bikes of all kinds.

We all have our own opinions, and after all as you say its your bike and its up to you, it is a nice bike and if it was mine apart from the tyres I wouldn't change a thing. I wasn't criticising your idea just offering my point of view
