512 in Knightsbridge, London

That McLaren looks like a Hyundai. Or whatever the latest probe/cougar modeo-based thing is. Not it's fault I suppose, I just relatively rarely get excited by the look of modern cars. Where's the character? The soul?

That 512, on the other hand, is all kinds of pretty. Could look at that for hours.

Factory visit - and the only place you were allowed to take photos was in the "trophy" room, where they had it on display with several other cars (including a car they ran at the Indy 500, I think).

Yes, that was the Indy car. The old trophy room was quite a place with all of the old cars hanging around.

They were sort of hung in a corkscrew manner, I think starting with one at 90 degrees to a wall / window, weren't they? The last one (a then current-ish F1 car) was just flat on the floor, I think - it's been a while, at a guess around 2002 / 2003.
