British Steel

Well, your frame is sitting at the back of my garage, so you never know, maybe some of the luck will transfer

I hope this qualifies for this thread

1991 Claud butler cape wrath with full deore dx, took this picture after a de-crudding,very little wear to the rims but needs stripping down and a thorough sorting.

well i guess this qualifies for british steel.....
a rare-as-hens-teeth custom built frame, made with prototype reynolds 853 tubing and
columbus nemo tubing mixed and matched into this beautiful machine.
this was made for me in 2000 by a guy called charlie ralph of alves framesets.
he started his little business in the wee town of alves in the north of scotland,
hence the name, but subsequently moved to elgin springs.
he did everything... the build and the paint!
the fillet brazing is beautiful, a work of art. the main tubes are 853 flat-sided teardrop,
so very deep but very narrow too!
the rear stays are columbus nemo tubing. it has an internal brass tube running through
the top tube for a hidden brake line, and cable bosses brazed to the headtube to eliminate cable rub!
a totally unique and high quality piece of british steel i hope you'll agree! :-)
