It's not actually a Casino C'est votre equipe! Colnago C40, so there isn't an official build spec to follow.... So... Campagnolo it is

If I'd known you had yellow the tape for it, I'd have taken it off you. It took me a couple of hours to source yellow for this one and orange for the Rabobank one.

Finally got my finger out and put most of this together this morning.

First up, the grungy headset. Cleaned and repacked it and it seems okay, but I'll maybe strip it down again and replace the balls.



Then these fugly things...

Period they may be pretty they ain't. So they now look like this...



Then onto then big stuff!

Lovely Chorus carbon chainset - big ring teeth are on short time and at 53t it ain't too great for round here. I'll probably replace it with a 50.

Front and rear mechs and brakes got bolted on as front and rear mechs and brakes tend to get bolted on, so I chucked the stem and bars on and pulled a set of spare wheels out to do a near complete mock up.




Ergo levers are sitting next to me awaiting an overhaul, so they'll go on and the build will get finished off tomorrow.

I have a pair of silver Open Pro's that might look better than the black Ventos, but I'll make the call on that one after the bar tape and pedals are on.

Talking of which... I have a set of Yellow Look pedals that might just look great with this... It might take me a week to dig them out from under all the boxes with Cougar framesets in them though...

I forgot to put a bid in when this frame was first listed on Ebayand missed it, which I was raging about. It didnt sell then got relisted and you snaffled it.

In the meantime I'd bought a blue fillet brazed one, so decided not to bid on it.

It was clearly always meant to be mine, though... and if its mine, its wearing Campag

Had to move the silver Open Pros to get to some other rims, so chucked them on for a quick preview.

I'll have another tryout with tape and pedals on, but I think I know which ones I prefer... Opinions always welcome, so... VOTE NOW!

I actually picked this frameset up, and rode the 14 miles home with it over my shoulder!
