Chameleon help

Can anyone let me know what year my Chameleon is?

It's a bit scabby... Hopefully a coat of yellow paint will make it look fresh again.

Any suggestions on some forks??

Thanks all 8)

It's one of the early ones - pre-disk mount. I had one new just like that in black back in 1997 iirc.

First 2 letters of the serial number should give it away... on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell. Looks like a medium, 1997 to 1999 to me, FWIW.

I have a 1999, about to post a build thread for it... er, at least the beginnings of one.

Defo an early one. The Chameleon logo is also a give away. The later ones lost the cartoon chameleon.

I had one in Sid Blue which I loved and have built one up for my other half (there's a thread on here about it).

Good luck with the build...they're cracking little bikes.

Re:

Thanks mate!

I'm going to go look for the thread now.

Does anyone make repro graphics?

No worries mate.

I got some later decals from a chap called Gil_M whom is on here. I ended up with later decals because my other half didn't like the Chameleon cartoon.

Re:

Nice one mate, cheers!

Itching to get this done now, so many ideas... Just not sure what one to go with and whether any of them are ok :D

Re:

There is a Disk mount on that frame, the early ones had the caliper mounted upside down which is exactly what the lump of Alu on the non drive drop out is, it'll be international standard and couldn't be flipped the other way.... I know as my mate had one...
