Is painting Ti wrong?

Frames get painted to preserve the metal so why bother with Ti.? It adds weight and looks scruffy after a while. Have you considered painting the components instead if the bike needs brightening up? I bet you haven't because needlessly painting stuff is wasteful and the chemicals used in paint are ghastly.

That green Kona does look very cool but, not sure I could paint a Ti frame. As mentiond earlier Ti has a certain 'factory cool' that might be a shame to cover in paint, no matter how nice. Still it's your frame & if it can be reversed I'd say why not?

I came so close to buying this Kona UNA, if I hadn't already had 3 single speeds it would have been mine. So, you know what my answer is. I think it'd be nice to have some titanium showing though.

you can paint it , but use less paint than the picture above .

IIRC Linskey shot blast(?) their custom frames to make the paint stick, since some of the tubes are .45mm thick they don't recommend stripping them at a later date.

My old Raleigh Ti got stripped by its new owner / I loved its team colours/ but I guess it didn't have 0.45mm walls

If you do go for paint then the banded style used on 953 stainless steel frames looks good i.e. frame is painted but bands of 'clear' metal are left where the decals are applied
