Klein Quantum Race Update

My old Shimano 600 shifters stopped working so I decided it was time to tastefully modify the 96 Klein to 10 speed. I got some 10 speed carbon Ultegra shifters , a Black Ultegra rear derailleur and an 11-25 cassette from a mega closeout sale on Bike Nashbar . I also got a set of FSA 10spd chainrings on closeout as they were a rather unpopular (these days) 42 - 52 combination. I kept the stock brakes, front derailleur and crankset as they worked fine. I also ditched the pig ugly stock bars and stem for a nice Cinelli 1a/ 64 combination. I finished things off with a nice gold KMC 10spd chain.

The new 10 speed setup works absolutely flawlessly although routing the cables through the Klein frame was an absolute nightmare and one I hope I will never have to do again. The Klein rides really nice and is nowhere near as harsh as many people say they are. I absolutely love this bike.

By the way, would you consider an ultegra 6800 chainset? The best aesthetically IMHO. I can probably aid in getting one..

I simply love kleins.. one day, I will have to get one for myself!
