Picked this BVse up recently. The plan is to turn it into a weekend warrior to put a kid seat on and take the lad out and introduce him to riding on dad's bike.

It's a bit scuffed and looking quite sorry for itself. Been left to rot for a while. I'm hoping for a phoenix from the ashes.

Follow to check it out.

Re:

Some photos.

- Literally spiders nests in the stx shifters.
- pedals broken
- headset on last legs (might be salvageable)
- frame a bit beaten up but ok
- shifters not going up or down and completely jammed
- filthy all over
- puncture
- seat was horrible and full of insects and falling apart
- forks full of cobwebs

It got stripped all the way down to the bottom bracket only. No dignity left. Time for a good clean.

Re:

Some recent updates on the build. Got most of the parts to put her back together this weekend.

Re:

It's not in its final form but it's getting there. Need to replace pedals, put a chain on, fix canti cables, tune, polish and put the all important kid seat on!

Went for amber wall slicks and brown accessories with copper cable ends. It's close but no cigar yet as there are some more finishing touches.

Might have put a bit of extra life in the headset. Got sent the wrong colour replacement. I'll switch that out later.

She's nice and (Marin) lite and I think she'll be pretty quick when finished. I'll have to limit the speed with the little dude on the back.

Feedback welcome and hope everyone is staying safe.

Re:

The bike has finally been finished and took the little fella out for the first ride. His response "again, more, again, more!". I think he's hooked.

The seat is a cheap second hand one. I might upgrade to a top tube mounted one that's sits between my arms. No rush though.

Now onto the next one. I'm building it just for me though. :)
