So in my quest to built the "Marin Wookiee Mountain" I have acquired a Marin Pine Mountain...Thing is I've not seen one similar and therefore I am curious as to the year model.

I won't take delivery of it till the weekend and only have this one picture...So I'm sure someone can help with the year...my guess is 1990 alternative colour scheme to Zolatone or possibly a USA version??? It has a U brake lurking on the rear also so who knows??

Look forward to some sound advice..

Wook

well.... I have a '89 Pine Mountain with that very decal design and layout, the only thing is it is light grey. Also it has canti brakes on the back seat stays so maybe it's '87-'88?

I bet it was a nail biting last few seconds on that one chief.. I watched the clock ticking down with the bid at £31 and the reserve not met. Good score, I hope it fits you bud :)

It has thumbies rather than STI so could be 89...

That sounds right, I have the thumb shifters as well. The group set is the Deore MT60 is that what you have?

Don't think its going to fit although I'm hopeful as it looks bigger than a 17.5" to me. I'll wait and see when I pick it up on Sun...for 70 notes I thought it worth a punt....

...And you know that your frame model is just what I'm after just bigger! I keep looking at yours and wishing I was shorter!

Not sure as I say I am picking up Sunday and only have this one pick...(ebay impulse buy!)

Decals are the same as my early 88. Not sure about the U brake on the rear. Mine has cantis front and rear.
Could be a Euro import. Doubt it's a US import not with U brake.

Either way, looks pretty original and in nice nick. Like you say £70 is worth a punt. You would proably get that for it in parts.

Good luck

Mark.

Do you have any pics of yours?...there is so little out there on pre 90 Marins...

Mines all stripped down in bits but 100% original. Let me know what bits you want photod and ill take some and mail them to you if that helps.

Yours look pretty much spot on and all there though. Check the seat post as they are a pig to get out.
