Mission Duet Tandem

Well, the front mech was totally worn out leading to crappy shifting. 200GS shifter units were functional but not the slickest. A quick Google search revealed a 9 speed cassette with one cog removed is the same width as a 7 speed one…. and I just happened to have spare 9 speed bits!

Now I have a huge range of gears, smoother shifts and it is lighter too.

If you can score some Maguras, even a single front one (especially the older cheaper ones with the big levers) makes braking far more relaxing.
The XT v-brakes with Aztec pads are an awesome combo! Braking hard I can lock the back wheel up easily two up.

Current status:

The rear hub was rebuilt using a donor, the new cables were duly fitted with a new seat post and saddle. I switched to a riser as the front end was too low with a flat bar.
