Regrets - what should you have kept?

Been thinking about what I've owned in the past and how I wish i had it now!

What have you sold/traded and still wish you had due to its value or desirability now?

I had a 96 P7, full XT with various nice USE and X-Lite bits, Renthal bars, Cattleprod stem, green Wildgripper sprints, Pace carbon hub etc.
I traded it in nearly 2 years ago before I discovered this site. Stress about what I might have got for the parts stripped down on here, although i might actually have ended up keeping it!

What's your biggest regret? (bike related!!)

I found a late 90's Orange P7 in a cash convertors shop that was virtually NOS condition. It cost me the princely sum of £140. I then knackered my knee (again) and was so cheesed off I sold it to someone I knew for the same price I paid for it.

Little turd sold it last year for £400 never having ridden it in the years he had it. :twisted:

Not buying the ex-Jason McRoy Salsa when i had the chance. As for selling? Nothing really. I wish the Mountain Goat i had last year wasn't too small. It rode so, so good.

Well, I don't have any pics I'm afraid and I haven't had nearly as many nice bikes as most of the people on here, but here are a few of mine:

1. 1993 Klein Attitude Race, Burgundy (don't know the proper name for it), Middleburn RS1s with rasta chainrings, M900, DT Swiss Hubs, Flite, Syncros Ti.... 19.5lb...

2. 1998 Storm H2 (my DH race bike), White Bros UD180, XTR, Hope DH4s(?). Scary fast. Best DH bike I've ever ridden.

3. 1998/1999(?) Mountain Cycle Moho Hardtail. M950, Judy DH's, Flite, Syncros.

4. 199? Kirk Revolution LX (the black one with horrid green forks!)

5. 2008 (yes, yes, not retro!) Rocky Mountain Vertex 70. Easton EC90/EC70, XTR, Raceface, Fox F100 RLC, Mavic Crossmax SL. Had to wait 3 months for it to be imported. The slowest 3 months EVER!!

I know there's loads around so I could easily get another and I've had others since and sold them :roll: but the one bike I always regret selling is my 1st C16R :?

It was an exercise in bad taste and looked like a badly decorated Christmas tree in the end with all the mis-matched anodised bits

There was nothing really expensive on it but it fitted like a glove, took me everywhere and travelled the world with me through work

Gave it to mate who gave it to a mate who gave it to a mate :? might have to try and track it down, bet its sitting unloved in a shed somewhere

Not blowing my own trumpet - but actually, nothing. I have a few bits lying around singing "one day my prince will come" that have never been used that I've considered selling, but couldn't bring myself to.

There are a few things I wish I had bought more of at the time though...

However stuff I have chucked out over the years for places I've worked just doesn't bear thinking about.

Half a NIB Super-Record groupset
Heaps of Kona canti-stops

But I have also "saved" a lot of stuff too so my consience is clear.
