Since my car was featured on 'Top Gear' in 1997, the show has come down!

which was yours?

The red Maestro with the T16 Rover engine at the end. It quotes my real name (Victor). Got rid of the car less than a year ago ... being a 60-year old boy racer just ain't right!

I owned a Maestro, i liked the size of it, but my one ran out of oil doing a ton up the M3 motorway

or drive into one of the other presenters cars.

i know it goes against what i just said but that usually entertains the child in me enough to chuckle

agreed.
Like a baby farting, funny every time.

xerxes hit the nail on the head though....its less interesting and more irritating every season.
lasts weeks was the best for a while though.

and we all still watch it...

Yeah enjoyed it - best one for a while...

If I could put my anorak on for a minute though...

Clarkson stated Sennas MP4/4 had 1200 BHP. Fat Chance... On a good day it had about 625 (due to its pop valves set at 2.5 bar).

There we go, anorak off and even managed to get a bike reference in :D

It's either that or fools dancing :(

I generally like the show , it's just I can't see why people are rating this one so highly , to me it's just series filler .

A few years ago they did a short bit of filming locally and a work mate was telling me they used his friends family's farm to land a helicopter , with all the crew they totaled to about 30 people .

I was also told by a member who's car was features from a Ford forum I used to use that they filmed and took re-takes until they got the results they wanted.
In this case it was old school hot hatches versus new, and a few of the old cars won their 'battles', so they re-filmed until they could prove newer cars were actually better.

:o So the worlds fastest and most expensive car breaks the lap record and sets a world record. Arguably two of the most famous people they've had on the show both post the fastest celeb times. I reckon the snow mobiles were pretty cool, jumping off that chute was nicely done. And not that I particularly like F1 or Lewis Hamilton to see him gushing over the Senna car topped of a nice article about the driver.

Surely not just a filler?

No substance though , you will have forgotten about it all in a few weeks . May having a go in a car that some people were testing anyway wasn't exactly amazing and the senna stuff is just an edit of good footage , we didn't exactly see Hamilton putting the car through it's paces did we .

The lap records are a farce , some of the cars aren't the spec they say they are and they are excluding cars , so people turn up on their own and knock seconds off those " fastest " cars .

Nicely convenient

Should have bought mine, Matt. A ton in third gear and topped out at 60mph faster on it's best day.

Yup, the M3 was a great place for 'testing', especially between Farnborogh and the M25 - had some great times there myself! :D

What bothers me is that there is NO cycling show.

Think how popular it would be!! 8)

For example,
Gary fisher as Jeremy Clarkson
Lance Amrstrong as Richard Hammond
Chris Boardman as James May/Captain slow!!!!!!

Ive written to many broadcastin company's about my idea but so far, no reply's.

Top gear is ok, but my "Granny Ring" idea is better.
