I got my first new bike from The Bike Shop (That's what it's called now, can't remember the name back then) in Skipton in 1990. It was a 1989 Saracen Tufftrax. I'd paid a deposit some time before then slowly paid off the balance.

My mate beavis got his 1990 Marin Palisades on the same day from the same shop. 8)

If that's the shop up near the castle my brother bought a Marin Pine Mountain there in 1990. I didn't have that kind of money and bought a Saracen Eiger from Halfords.

Being old..pardon my droning..not so much buying but first bike

during the war we wert so poor even a cardboard box was tut luxury

my first bike was a neighbours red moulton mini that had snapped in half and a mate at my dads work welded it back together again and I then got it

I did feel a social leper as at the time the cool kids were riding grifters and choppers and I had my snapped in half moulton mini in red..to match my hair..god I hated being young

My first new bike was an Ammaco 202 BMX bought from Dave Friar surf shop in Mumbles, pretty cheapo thing but I rode it to everywhere for years 8)

Dundee,

To compound the foolishness I bought my 2nd one there too

Both high ten boat anchors............mmmmmmm, maybe thats where the shops sourced them :?

1968, 2nd hand shop, Clepington Rd, Dundee. BSA Wayfarer, 3spd Sturmey Archer. 7th birthday pressie.

Had bought a few frames (roadies) but firtst complet bike was an Alpinestars Al-Mega DX. from Cyclerama in Exeter. Frameset and Seatpost still going strong, DX parts wore out and replaced with XT and (first generation - I think) XTR finished with 3TTT bars and stem.

First bike was a Raleigh Arena racer for xmas pressie but no idea where it came from :?:

My first & only brand new bike was my 1993 Kona Hahanna bought from The Sensible Bike Company in Liss Hampshire, god i loved that bike but i always wanted to upgrade as my riding buddy went & bought an Explosif :D
