Any interest in sprint wheels for tubs?

You can still get tubs for reasonable prices: https://www.condorcycles.com/collections/tubular-tyres https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/wheels-and-tyres-tires/4007/s#fq=id_familia=4002&sort=v30_sum;desc@tm4;asc&fe=&pf=id_subfamilia=4007@atributos=1176_3363_1&start=0 I've used both of those...

What suitable tyres on mavic monthlery pro rims

I find Vittoria Corsa Control go on Monthlery Pro fairly easily. Condor were selling them at £35 but they've got other tubulars: https://www.condorcycles.com/collections/tubular-tyres There's also BikeInn...

    Holdsworth Italia Strada Speciallissimo frame

It's just my size, but I seem to be going older so 69 is probably too modern, I might need something from the 40's. I'm sure I will regret that at some point.

The Weird and Wonderful Bicycle Components Thread!

1953 Cyclo Benelux mark 7 lever operated FD It actually works really quite well, max tooth gap 20 according to advert. Shifting 50/32 Williams cogs on a 1953 Holdsworth Whirlwind:

1960 Cyclo Benelux catalogue: (see bottom right corner) Not everything was corncob: the Cyclo Benelux mark 8 Tourist RD (1957) is 5 speed, 35 wrap, max cog 28. But it is chain pull.

The rod shifter is specced at max 20 tooth difference. I had to buy a work stand to adjust the vertical position for 18 gap. It works surprisingly well once you get used to reaching for it. Cogs are 13-15-17-20-24-32, so 18 gap on the front is max wrap + 1.

Another 1950’s adventure (Viking Ian Steel Model)

Just going to mention that Cyclo Benelux mark 7 front rod shifter (1953) works really well. My 1953 Holdsworth Whirlwind was originally 5 speed so no braze on for FD shifter. I originally also tried Cyclo Benelux tourist 5 speed rear but the action is too heavy for me so went SunTour Cyclone mk1...

SUCCESS! Caustic Soda to remove seat-post-my experience

I've used Fluid Film on a couple of bikes - I think it's lanolin based. I use it after I've painted the frame. It came top in a rust prevention shoot out: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/anti-corrosion-product-shootout.1073581/

    Holdsworth Cyclone 1950

It will be interesting to see what it sells for. I've got a 61 Cyclone: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1961-holdsworth-cyclone.471978/ But I'm not selling it anytime soon, just wondering what value for insurance (if I had any).

    Road bike brake lever position

I'm going to say the drop on those bars could well be the issue. I use GB Tourmalet which have exactly the same dimensions as the stock bars on a 1982 Holdsworth Avanti. The other consideration is brake levers. I recently tried some 60s Mafac levers and had to ditch them and go back to Weinmann...
