heat transfer vinyl is easy enough to obtain, I have a roll of white here, but I'm not sure how the rubber would hold up the installing. It also needs a solid surface behind it to ensure good adhesion. It wouldn't look factory though, the vinyl has a thickness that the screen printing doesn't have.

Innovations that are no more but maybe still should be

I think it's pretty safe to say that there isn't a modern invention without something with a similar function or purpose already existing. The "amazing" that people seek from the past is often no longer made because it was a fad or because it rubbish and pointless. Everything else, evolved to...

Magic Ratio for Single Speed. Any Experiences?

find (or make) a tensioner that pushes up from underneath. you can get a much nicer look without having the tensioner hanging off the back end like a wart. you can use your half link to get close then use the tensioner to take out the last bit.

I reckon anything you do is going to look worse. Short if stripping them to black and screen printing them again. You ight getaway with a stencil, but freehand, nope. Like I said, they were never really white. Enjoy it for what it is. I think these cost the shop 2.50 a peice and we sold...

you misunderstand. I like the look, I don't like hunts wheels. :) I've got Condor rims on the Coyote that look very similar, but they cost about a 3rd of the price. I've had 3 friends with Hunts rims. one pancaked on gravel track. . The last set I had to help with, they were sub 1 month old and...

I just don't like hunts wheels. they look fine though.. all modifications sound practical and sensible to me and pretty much what I'd do myself.

    Innovations that weren't...

wasn't just one frame, it was a large percentage of them including their road bikes. as Tom says issues under the seat collar but also under the seat stay join and at the BB. they pushed to hard with aluminium and paid the price. I'd still have one, especially with a leftie.

Anyone have details on how the Avocet 30 cyclocomputer magnet ring works?

no. I wasn't born when this shit was the norm and I'm not about to accept it now. We are not motorcycles, stop trying to use their technology on us. :P
