    Wanted VGC/Mint XTR M900 Shifters & RD

He simply means Rear Derailleur 👍

    Front Mech dual pull "thing"?

Yep - often found on early Treks in particular, allowing you to run the outer cable housing right down to it. The cable itself should be retained by a screw/nut on the frame. Many early frames converted to single speed would be lost without this little bit if being converted back to 3x...

    Mystery Karma pass the parcel.....

A bit like changing the groupset on a bike and calling it a new bike, if a receiver has to change the box due to expansion, is it still technically the same box?🤯

    Giant cadex m900

I just can't get past any listing that says 'Full XTR' without having to scour the pics to find fault in that statement 🤣 Not a bad effort here, but still missing QR's, brake blocks, straddle cables and rubber hoods for the STIs 😛 and the seatpost possibly...

    Xtr m901 top pull FD

Anywhere in the £30-£50 bracket realistically. Sometimes there's loads of demand and none about, but then sometimes no demand and several available! It's a size and pull I tend to keep one of just in case!

    Who’s that then? 🤷‍♂️

    I've had those too! 🤣

BoTM Bike of The Month April 2024 - Time to vote

Voted for the one I'd most like to have a go on, despite it having a couple of elements I usually say are definite no no's for a truly retro build! 😫

    Suntour XC comp vs pro

When sourcing XC Pro for my '92 Zaskar (which I think I'm abandoning), I found it quite hard to track down decent non Micro Drive stuff, but it's out there if you look hard and closely enough. My XC Pro groupset has taken up residence on my Dyna-Tech Pro for the time being...

Nuke proof hubs on Mavic sunsets

Decent built wheelset like this, assuming decent life left in the rims should fetch £200-£250.

Marin team ti - I’m not convinced.

Yep. There's nothing wrong in making money from the stuff found in house clearances, which is often where gems like these come from.

    For Sale Yeti FRO

Here's a bump for May. Keep forgetting to list this on eBay or anywhere else so really only being seen by the RB folk.

1992 Konas - why all thumb shifters?

Aside from my first ATB (Townsend 2000), and my second MTB (ProFlex 550), all my off-road bikes of the 90's came fitted with STI's of some type whether it was Shimano or Suntour. So I never really appreciated the simplicity of thumbshifters or spent much time using them. I've got more sets on...

Kona Hei Hei 1994 build thread

That’s lovely that is 😍 I really want an early Hei Hei, no later than a ‘94 ideally, and in a 17”… I’ll take it! 😀

    Marin Indian Fire Trail 1993

Both were available, it's just that the green one was used in the sales brochure. I had the purple decal'd version in '92 👍 Your build is similar to mine in many ways

What are your retro bike plans for 2024.

Another part of my retro bike plans for 2024 is to sell more than I buy! So far it has been 1 out, but 1 in 🤦‍♂️ I've certainly reduced my spare parts haul though.

    1996 Marin Ultimate Titanium

Does it have to be flats? Nice pair of M747 SPDs would seem fitting 🤩
