Servicing and possibly upgrading RS Judy DH 95's

It depends what you want from your suspension. Elastomers are high maintenance, massively effected by temperature, introduce their own damping which messes with your damper in a variable way (depending on temperature) which impacts overall consistent performance. Some people say MCU's are better and they are, marginally, but they're still crap. Then again all of this old stuff is varying shades of crap so I guess that's a moot point. Coil is best for consistency but less tuneable (I can easily go +/- 2 psi from my baseline depending on what I'm riding to fine tune for the day), and means it's expensive to find a spring that works for you (and as all springs aren't what they say they are, this doesn't help - I've had 400lb springs tested at both 379lb and 423lb for example, a huge difference). Air is user tuneable and modern air springs are low maintenance, relatively consistent thanks to good negative setups that self equalise rather than the old dual air tech, and for most riders give a good balance of low speed comfort and high speed support. Other than price, there's little to recommend elastomers, and even then that's offset by having to replace them fairly regularly if you're using them hard.
